February, 2025- News from the Track

Hello everyone,

Here we are just a month away from the Season Opener, March 1, 2025, at Tucson Speedway. We will also have Meet-N-Greet on track for all the fans. We are all looking forward to a great year because of all of you, the Racers, Sponsors and Fans. We are excited to have the ARCA West Series return to the track on April 4-5, 2025.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners and racers at the 2025 Chilly Willy. The Super Late Model track record was broken starting with Kole Raz 14.951 during Friday Qualifying and Jace Hansen broke it during Saturday Qualifying with a 14.891. Six drivers qualified in the 14 second bracket over the weekend. Kole Raz and Jace Hansen won the main events Friday and Kole Raz and Michael Scott won Saturdays events. Hansen took the lead from Raz after a late caution to win the Chilly Willy 150.

The INEX Legends always make this a great show with more than 50 cars on hand for this Regional/National Qualifier event for them. Taylor Mayhew won the Young Lion/Semi Pro main event Friday with Jaron Giannini winning the Pro/Masters. Saturday was another great day with Chase Burgeson winning the Young Lion/Semi Pro and Jeremy Doss winning the Pro/Master events. Sunday, Taylor Mayhew and Jaron Giannini are in the winner’s circle again to finish out a great racing weekend for all.

RACE SCHEDULE – Please note the CARS Tour West event was cancelled for 2/21-2/22/25. The CAN-AM Sprints will be here that weekend and will race solo on Friday afternoon/early evening. Saturday, 2/22/25, is an OPEN Practice Day and Tech Day and the CAN-AM Sprints will race at 5:00pm to close out the day.

REGISTRATION & LICENSES – Your car number and pit stall registrations are due by 2/22/25. If you owned the number or stall last season you have the first right to it this year until the 2/22/25 date. If you have not already done so, Drivers or Owners (whomever is claiming the race winnings for tax purposes) must complete a new W-9 FORM each year. All minors under the age of 18 must have a completed Minor Release Form on file. We have these forms available online and at the registration trailer.

All drivers must have a NASCAR Driver License or INEX Driver License to race. You can purchase NASCAR online or at the gate. Super Late Model drivers must hold a Feature Division Driver License and all others a Charger Division Driver License. You must purchase INEX Driver & Associate Licenses online through “PitPay”. https://license.nascar.com/ and select NASCAR Advanced Auto Weekly Series https://www.pitpay.com/series/180 for the INEX Legend and Bandolero.

RULES – All rules have been posted to the website https://www.tucsonspeedwayaz.com/rules/ Remember – it is your responsibility to read and understand these track rules and class rules, including the CODE of CONDUCT, which is the last page of the track rules. If you have any questions, please never hesitate to get hold of me or Tim.

TIRES – Every Class except the Hornets will be racing on HOOSIER Tires for the 2025 race season. The F70, 890 and 790 tire order will be prepared for delivery prior to the 2/21-2/22/25 weekend. Tire allotment schedule will be similar to the last few years and will be posted soon.
